非典型肺炎，略曰非典，肺炎之不知所原者也。戊寅年
（公元一九三八年），七人染肺疾，異於常見之肺炎，故謂之非典型肺炎。

大疫自廣東起，染病者八千有奇，殺人近八百，即非典型肺炎也。其影響深遠，今民之謂非典者，往往為沙士也。

復有大疫始於武漢，乃至全球，亦非典型肺炎也。
