元宵有
食飯擔之習，二鄉各庄，周流為舉。
臺
人以之重大，每論元宵之習俗，謂「北天燈、南蜂炮，東炸寒單、中喫飯擔」焉。雲林縣以為無形文化資產。

褒忠鄉馬鳴山鎮安宮，祀五年千歲十二王爺，信徒每逢其誕辰，皆具禮獻祀。諸王誕辰互異故，遂春、冬各一日為大一統之誕辰，農曆正月十五（亦上元），是為春祭，行繞境。
昔春祭午時，褒忠、東勢五股十四庄番行酬酢信徒，值歲者具食，挑擔埕中，與繞境者共享，是謂飯擔。今式樣仍若，益筵十方信眾，來者不拒，甚者遊覽車來，為食飯擔爾。
惟世風日下，有俟始遽以袋裝食，使旁人無可食者
