高棉帝國者，亦稱吳哥王朝，
柬埔寨之古國也。繼真臘、扶南而起。
佛曆一三四七年，真臘王子闍耶跋摩二世擊敗爪哇人之夏連特拉王朝，稱轉輪王，立都於吳哥城，高棉帝國乃始。然中國史書仍以「真臘」稱之。

佛歷一九七五年，末帝博涅亞遷都金邊，降為柬王，帝國乃終。
