。丁內艱，哀毀骨立，日謁墓叩泣，三年如一，風雨弗阻。清亡不仕。

暮年臥病纂修《固安縣志》，未竟。著《文字討原》、《文字蒙求籤記》、《說文提要箋》，皆未付梓。惟《爾雅穀名考》傳世。
