高麗國第九代王，王氏，諱欽，字元良，
高麗顯宗王詢長男，母元成王后金氏。
元年，以王可道監修國史，李端為平章事，黄周亮、皇甫俞義為參知政事。舊制宣麻於家，至是集百官宣於乾德殿。命平章事柳韶創置北境關防。自國内城界鴨緑江入海處，東洿朔州等十四城、祇和州等三城，延袤千餘里，以石為城。三年，納顯宗女為后，以崔冲為刑部尚書。王寝疾，傳位于弟平壤君亨。王薨，平壤君即位靖宗
