高麗國第十四代王，王氏，諱昱，
高麗宣宗子，母思肅太后李氏。

宣宗十一年王薨，元子昱即位。獻宗元年，正月，日有暈兩傍有彗。太史奏，日有彗，近臣亂，諸侯欲有反者，王幼不知脩省。李資義謀反，伏誅。初，宣宗於思肅太后生王，又納侍中李頲之女元信公主，生漢山侯昀，資義公主兄也。以王幼弱，不能聽決萬幾，謀欲立昀。至是，聚兵將舉事，邵臺輔使王國髦率兵入衛，令壯士髙義和斬資義，及其黨崔忠伯等。以王國髦權尚書兵部事，時王室微弱，而權歸武將，識者嘆之。王禪位於叔父雞林公熈，熈即位，乃肅宗也。肅宗元年，獻宗出居興盛宮。二年，獻宗王薨於興盛宮。廟號獻宗，諡恭殤定比懷孝大王。
