魏孝文帝，名宏，後改姓元，
北魏獻文帝長子也。
孝文性至孝，善射，好為文。即位之後，祖母馮太后攝政。大興文治，均民田，制戶籍，修明堂辟雍靈臺，舉養老籍田之制。憎國俗之陋，遷都洛陽，冀變舊風，禁胡服胡語。在位二十九年崩，傳位子恪，謚號孝文，廟號高祖。年號延興、承明、太和。
