惠公之子，
隱公之弟也。
事
允爲惠公嫡幼子，位甚寵，列隱公之上。及惠公薨，以允尚幼，隱公代而攝之。
隱公十一年，
翬請殺允，隱公大驚，詰而不許。翬見不成，懼允聞此事，而於己不利，故反譖於桓公。桓公聞而使翬弒兄，奪其位，是爲桓公。
三年，娶齊襄公妹
文姜爲夫人。
六年，
文姜生長子同
。
十八年，公與夫人姜氏如齊。齊侯與妹通，公遂謫妻，文姜乃告與齊侯。四月，齊君享公，使公子彭生乘公，公薨於車。齊以畏魯，遂誅彭生。
