。周大夫樊仲甫諫王曰：「廢長而立少子，不合禮也；非禮也，必犯王命；犯王命，必誅之；故出令不可不正。令不行，政則無威；行令而非禮也，民將背上。以下事上，以少事長，為禮者也。今天子為諸侯立嗣，立其少子，此教民逆也。若魯從之，諸侯效之，王命將有所壅；若弗從而誅之，是自誅王命也。此事，君誅亦失，不誅亦失，天子其圖之！」宣王不聽，卒立戲為魯太子。

夏，武公自周歸魯，薨。公子戲立，是為懿公。
