鴆，異獸也，出《

》。基山在玉山、
琴鼓山、
瑤碧山間。
生態
雄鴆名曰「迴陽」；雌鴆名曰「陰氳」。
迴陽鳴則霽，名曰「運日」；陰氳鳴則雨，名曰「陰諧」。
鴆，形似紫黑鵝，赤目，喙長七寸。鳴聲如拊腰鼓。
秋冬隳羽。食蜚蠊、
橡、
蛇，獵蛇為要。伺蛇竇，振木使蛇出，鴆乃啄食之。鴆羽含大毒，觸之則斃，故謂「鴆毒」。鴩羽之毒，本受於蛇也。鴆毒劇甚，人以銀鑷取羽，否則手腐。
世傳唯犀角可解鴆毒耳。

》，皆載以鴆羽入酒殺人事，名曰鴆毒。《
三國志
》載董卓鴆弑少事，云「鴆毒後，遂蕩覆王室」。
