武陵人也。少讀誦經
書，仕州為部從事，後棄世，學道於霍山，八十余年，復入中嶽，專行服氣斷谷，為吞吐之事。胎息內視，召六甲玉女，吞陰陽符，又思赤星在洞房前，轉大，如火周身。至二百歲，轉還少壯，道士王紫陽數往見，從求要言，敬告紫陽曰：「吾不修服藥之道，但守自然，蓋地仙也，何足詰問，聞新野陰君神丹升天之法，此真大道之極也，子可從之。人能除遣嗜慾如我者，不可以學我所為也。」紫陽固請不止，敬告紫陽曰：「大關之中有輔星，想而見之翕習成；赤童在馬持朱庭，指而搖之錬身形；消遣三屍除死名，審能守之可長生，失之不久倫𥥆真。」紫陽受之，得長生之道也。
