黃腰柳鶯，隸鶲科柳鶯屬，棲息於東南西伯利亞、北蒙古、
中國東北，繁衍於山林之間。為候鳥，常年遷徙往復，避冬於華南、
東南亞
。近世秋
時，亦益見於泰西
。
歐亞
諸鶯，其體惟小，頭大尾短，上綠下白、黃臀、黃眉、中有冠紋。亞洲柳鶯屬，間有貌似，世以其聲辨識之。
築巢於樹叢間，每產有蛋四、六，歷十二日餘而孵化，又十二日餘而長羽。初，雌鳥為哺；及長羽，雌雄並育其兒，凡七日餘。其飼主以蟲
蛹，覓食於樹蔭叢葉之際。族群繁盛，列屬無危。
