楚先人季連之子也。
《清華簡·楚居》曰：「季連者居山，遷京宗。季連初降於隈山，抵於空窮，前出於喬山，宅處爰波。逆上洲水。見盤庚之子，處於方山，女曰妣隹……季連聞其有聘，從及之盤，爰生𦀚伯、遠仲。遊徜徉，先處於京宗。」季連者居隈山，遷京宗，而生𦀚伯、遠仲。
